Pairing order matters on some builds, sure, but that gotcha existed three generations ago and training never mentioned it then either. Spending 20 minutes on docs for every basic device is how you end up with a truck full of sticky notes and zero installs done by noon. Most firmware updates happen through the app now anyway, so the keypad thing is probably a one-off batch issue, not a new rule. Maybe the real fix is just to carry a spare older panel for these jobs instead of treating the manual like gospel. If the old way works 99 times out of 100, that's still a solid average.
