I got into a fight with my HOA over native plants
Last spring in Austin, I replaced my front lawn with drought-resistant wildflowers and grasses. The HOA sent a violation notice calling it 'unkempt' and demanded I put in sod. I mean, I get they want things neat, but this is Texas and we're in a drought. I wrote back with photos and a list of the native species, explaining how they save water and support pollinators. It took three months of back and forth, but they finally backed off. Has anyone else had to push back on rules that actually hurt local climate efforts?
