Shoutout to my old bakery boss who taught me to always weigh flour

Get a cheap kitchen scale, it's a game changer. Why guess when you can just know the exact amount?

PSA: My game group's vibe totally shifted after we added a points tracker

Our group tried a whiteboard for Terraforming Mars and it was a total mood killer. People just stared at the points instead of talking, and it made every single move feel super competitive. We actually went back to private score pads because the quiet math time lets people plan and joke around without pressure. That whiteboard is in my garage now.

My lightbulb moment about asking for help on tricky cuts

Tbh, that's smart to film your setup. I had a similar thing trying to miter crown molding for a friend's place. Spent a whole Saturday getting gaps no matter what I did. Finally showed a picture to an old guy who comes into the bar, he's a retired trim carpenter. He told me I was holding the molding upside down against the saw fence. Felt like an idiot but saved so much time and wood. Having that list of people is key.

My uncle swore by using a heat gun on a quarter panel for 20 minutes before pulling a dent

Oof, that's rough. A heat gun on a panel for that long is way too much direct heat, you'll cook the paint every time. For cold metal, you gotta use a torch with a wide, soft flame and keep it moving constantly, never letting it sit in one spot. Just warm the metal enough to take the chill off, you don't want it hot to the touch.

Tried a different rope setup for a tricky backyard oak removal in Austin

Yeah, @terry_shah17, reminds me of a time we toasted a line on a simple redirect that looked fine. Now I just run my gloves over it feeling for any grit or hard spots.
