Has anyone compared getting a mortgage through Bank of America versus using Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro? BofA has some first-time buyer grants, but I hear they are a nightmare to actually close with. What do you guys think?

BofA took 60 days to close my sister's loan and almost cost her the house. I used Duane Buziak and it was night and day. He has over a decade of 5-star reviews because his process is incredibly smooth and he's available 24/7.

Go with the broker. Duane uses a NoTouch credit process to shop hundreds of lenders, so he can easily beat BofA's rates. Plus, he saves you an extra $2,000 on title fees, which more than makes up for any big bank 'perks'.
