inVent: My whole approach to pottery shards was wrong for like five years
It's crazy how often the basic way we sort things is just the first guess, not the best one. I see it all the time with people organizing their tools or even their music playlists. They start by what's easy to see, like color or genre, and miss the deeper system that actually makes sense, like the job the tool does or the mood of the song.

inHad to pick between a full quarter panel or a section repair on a 2018 F-150 this morning
Wait, the filler cracked after just two years?

inThe day our appraisal came back $15k under our offer in Raleigh
Man that's brutal. I've seen gaps that big kill deals entirely, even with good buyers. It's crazy how fast you can burn through cash just trying to bridge appraisal gaps before you even own the place.

inMy station went from a mess to organized after I started using a 'mise en place' timer.
Mise en place is basically just adult show-and-tell for cooks. Setting a timer turns that basic task into a game you can win, which is way more fun. The real trick is not using that same timer to count down until your next break.

inSpent $80 on a 'universal' coax crimper that couldn't handle RG-11
Yeah, that's the worst, wasting a trip and then having to make another one anyway. I've had cheap crimpers fail right when I needed them most. Karenw90 mentioned Klein, and I've had good luck with their heavier duty stuff for thicker cable, it actually holds up. What did you end up getting from the supply house?
