Spent 3 hours painting one wall because I picked the wrong primer (oil vs latex disaster)
I decided to finally paint my kitchen accent wall last Saturday. Picked a nice warm yellow, got the good brush, prepped everything. Rolled on a coat and it started beading up and peeling off right in front of me. Searched online and realized my primer was oil based and my paint was latex. Had to sand the whole thing down, clean it, and start over with the right stuff. By the time I finished it was 9pm and I was covered in paint chips. Is this just a rite of passage for DIY painting or am I the only one who messed up this bad?
