My bench grinder wheel just exploded on a Saturday morning

It was a 6 inch wheel that came with the grinder, and it just came apart while I was sharpening a chisel. Had to clean up grit and chunks for an hour. Anyone know a good brand for a solid replacement wheel?

The client, an older guy who used to work in upholstery, walked over and said, 'Your seams are telegraphing because you're not staggering the backing cuts enough.' He showed me how he'd cut the backing a full inch back on each piece before joining. I went home, tried it on my next job, and the difference was night and day. Anyone have a better method for preventing seam show-through on plush carpets?

Yesterday, the system clock showed it had been on for 100 full days. The hard drive is still humming, and the CRT shows no signs of dimming. Honestly, I think these machines are tougher than we give them credit for if you've done the basic maintenance. Has anyone else pushed an old system like this for a long stretch?

He spent months on that landscape, mixing oils and building up layers. The AI version took a prompt and about 30 seconds to make something you could hardly tell apart. It makes you wonder what all that time and skill is for now. Has anyone else seen AI copy a real artist's style this closely?
