inFound a way to keep my line level from sliding on windy days
Hot glue on a level? That sounds like a great way to melt your fingers off, @felix_jones. The putty is way safer.

inJust finished the Timberline Trail vs. the Three Sisters Loop
What was the snow situation like on Timberline when you went? I heard it can linger into July. Also, did you do it clockwise or counter, and did that make a difference with the river crossings?

inShowerthought: everyone on the big forums says you need a complex spreadsheet to track your spending, but I just used a single envelope for my 'fun money' for 3 months and it worked better.
Actually makes you think about how cash used to force a physical limit. You can't spend a hundred dollar bill twice. Digital money feels endless because you never see the stack get smaller. That missing friction is probably why so many people get into trouble with apps now. It's just numbers changing on a screen, not real money leaving your hand.

inPSA: My 'perfect' Chiang Mai cafe setup got ruined by a single power outage
Been there, lost a whole afternoon once. I keep a local SIM in my bag now, and my phone's hotspot is always set up before I even open my laptop.

inFound a weird fix for random USB port failures on a batch of Dell OptiPlex 3080s
Sounds like you got lucky and wasted a lot of time. Those cables are designed to stay put, and a whole batch being loose from the factory is a huge stretch. More likely you just reset something by powering down and opening the case, and the real fix was the power cycle. Those machines probably would have been fine if you just left them alone, and now you've introduced risk by messing with other connections that were fine.
