inWarning: A local in Medellin called me out on my cafe work setup and it stung
My kid did that at the library once.

inFinally dialed in my brisket flat after a year of it drying out
That fat cap is everything for a flat. Been there, trimming it down to nothing like it was a steak. Leaving that good layer on top makes all the difference, it's like built-in insurance. Wrapping at 170 is the sweet spot too, lets it push through the stall without steaming. Took me forever to stop treating it like a ribeye.

inI tried to fix a leaky faucet with a cheap kit from the dollar store and then with a proper replacement cartridge.
Ever try to fix a toilet flapper? I used a universal one that never sealed right. Had to go back for the exact brand model, total pain.

inSpent two whole days on a stubborn flange gasket from a 1980s boiler in the old Dayton plant.
Yeah those old industrial salvage spots are lifesavers. I read about a guy in Ohio who found a whole pallet of NOS gaskets for 60s era farm equipment just sitting in a barn. The owner had no idea what he had, sold the whole lot for like two hundred bucks. Places like that are becoming gold mines as original parts dry up.

inJust read a review that said the average smartwatch battery lasts only 18 months before capacity tanks
Yeah, planned obsolescence for sure. It's wild how they design them to basically brick themselves right after the warranty ends. Makes you wonder if anything is built to last anymore.
