PSA: Tinkering with my own dryer motor burned me out
I thought fixing my busted dryer would be a fun weekend project, but it's been nothing but headaches. The motor seemed simple enough, but I cracked the housing trying to get the old bearings out. Now I'm stuck with a half-taken-apart machine and a pile of parts I can't put back. It's frustrating because I usually enjoy this stuff, but this time I bit off more than I could chew. Lesson learned: sometimes you need the right tools, not just patience. If anyone has tips for sourcing a replacement motor casing for an older model, I'm all ears. This hobby repair is testing my limits big time.
