Didn't think I'd ever install 100 yards of carpet in a single house...

Just finished a big job in a new build over in Springfield, and the total came out to exactly 100 yards. It was this massive open-concept area with a sunken living room... never had a single-family home need that much before. How do you guys handle estimating for spaces that large without coming up short?

Then a heavy shelf I put up fell and left a huge hole. A friend showed me how to use a basic #8 anchor from the brand E-Z Ancor, and it held a 15-pound mirror for three years without a wobble. It was such a simple fix that I felt dumb for avoiding it. What's the one basic repair thing you all put off learning for way too long?
