Spent 4 hours trying to get good night photos inside an old grain mill near Dayton
I kept getting blurry shots because the floor was so dusty every step kicked up particles. Took me forever to figure out I needed to use a slower shutter and wait ten minutes after walking to let the dust settle. Anyone else run into weird lighting problems in abandoned industrial places?

The dust had to settle" - did you try shooting from a higher angle or using a tripod to cut down on stirring things up yourself?

yeah @rowank69 that's a good point, I actually tried the tripod thing but the problem was the dust was already so thick in the air from the first shot that even with the tripod stable I was just kicking up more as I moved around. higher angle mightve helped if I'd thought of it sooner but by then the whole area was a mess anyway. i think the real trick is to just wait it out or do a few test shots far away before you commit to the real setup. especially if you're shooting indoors with no air movement, that stuff lingers forever.
