inHad a chat with an old dredge hand who made me rethink my whole approach to cutterhead maintenance
Is it really about doing less though @kim.wren? I think the problem is more about doing the wrong things too much. Like with food - eating less overall is good advice, but eating less of the bad stuff is what really matters. You can eat small amounts of junk food all day and it still kills you. Same with work. People brag about working 80 hour weeks on things that don't matter. It's not the volume that's the issue, it's the quality of what you're putting your time into. Less is only better when you're cutting the worthless stuff, not when you're just doing less of everything.

inMy buddy swore by the ice pack under the laptop trick
Ha, yeah I read condensation can wreck your laptop faster than heat does.

inFigured out I was cleaning focus screens with the wrong cloth for a decade
Actually those lens pens can pick up grit from your pocket and scratch the glass way worse than a clean microfiber ever would.

inHit 500 subscribers on my retro game repair channel and it honestly feels like a bigger milestone than anything else
Nah I gotta push back on that. 500 subs is cool don't get me wrong but it's not some huge milestone. You got 500 people to click a button. That's barely enough to fill a movie theater. The real test is when you actually make money or when someone offers you a real collab. Half those subs probably won't even watch your next video.

inJust had a weird moment at the grocery store with a runaway cart
Not sure I'd call it comforting exactly. Mostly just feels like people are numb to it because they deal with way worse stuff on a daily basis. Like the orange bin thing is a 3 on a 1 to 10 scale of grocery store nonsense. The real chaos is when a customer starts yelling about expired coupons or something while you're trying to restock the coffee aisle. That's when the unfazed look is just survival mode.
