Had a low battery beep on a panel that stumped me for weeks
Every morning at this warehouse in Akron the panel would chirp once around 4am, but the tester showed 13.2 volts so I never bothered checking the transformer. Turned out the battery was fine, the transformer was oversized and the charger circuit was bleeding voltage back through the diode, easy swap once I finally put a load tester on it. Anyone else chase phantom beeps only to find it's the charging board, not the battery?
Load testers catch stuff multimeters miss entirely. Had a nearly identical issue where the voltage read fine at rest but dropped hard under load, ended up being a cracked solder joint on the charger board itself. Always run the load test first, saved me three weeks of chasing wires.
