inHot take: 1000 hours on a $30 PSU is not luck, it's just how it works
Got a friend who still runs a Raidmax 530W from 2009 in his media PC and it's been going for like 15 years now. I used to give him crap about it all the time, saying he was one power surge away from a house fire. But you might be right, @johns18, maybe I was just buying into the hype from PC building forums where everyone acts like a $20 PSU will explode if you look at it wrong. That old thing has outlasted two of my Corsair units that died from capacitor plague. Not saying I'd put a cheap PSU in a $2000 gaming rig, but for basic office stuff or a light gaming build, most of them just sit there and do their job quietly. The fear feels overblown now.

Maybe people who wanted to save time" is the key part here. Some folks just want to get their work done fast and go home, they don't care about squeezing out extra profit. Time is valuable too, not just revenue.

inI was wrong about Kodak Portra being the best film for portraits
You saying Pro 400H had better skin tone separation in mixed lighting - what kind of mixed lighting we talking? Like window light plus tungsten indoors, or more like shade plus sun? I'm curious because I gave up on Fuji film years ago for no good reason except everyone said Kodak was the safe bet, and now I'm wondering if I missed out on something real specific.

inShoutout to zip ties for holding a heater hose together on a 2002 F-150
Double check that zip tie isn't touching your alternator belt.

inMy main laptop charger died right before a big deadline yesterday. Had to drive 30 miles to the only store that had a replacement.
Fully agree with you there. The timing is just a nasty coincidence, but it sure feels personal when a charger dies thirty minutes before a presentation. That's the universe's way of testing your patience, I guess.
