Update: I was wrong about taking 8am classes, and my GPA finally shows it
I swore by 8am classes for my first two years at Ohio State. I figured getting up early meant I had the whole afternoon free to study, and I told anyone who would listen that night owls were just lazy. Then last spring I signed up for an 8am stats class and an 8am accounting class back to back, and I basically stopped going by week four. I was nodding off in the back row with a cold coffee in my hand, missing half the lecture, and my first exam came back as a 61. My roommate finally asked why I kept doing this to myself when I clearly do my best thinking after 8pm, and honestly I did not have a good answer. It sounds dumb but I needed someone else to say it out loud, because I had built this whole story in my head that morning people win. This fall I stacked my classes from 11am to 3pm, studied at night like my brain actually wanted to, and pulled a 3.7, my best term yet. Anyone else held onto a schedule that was quietly wrecking them just because it sounded disciplined?
