Swapped name-brand detergent for store brand, saved $14 a month for 6 months
I used to grab Tide every trip to the Kroger in Austin because I thought generic meant weaker cleaning. Then I read the ingredient label on the Kroger version and it's nearly identical for half the price, so I switched last March and honestly can't tell a difference on my kid's soccer stains. Has anyone else blind-tested their usual detergent against a cheap knockoff and ended up sticking with the cheap one?

Testing stuff like that makes you wonder what else we're overpaying for. Once you start comparing labels, you see a lot of the same junk in fancy packages everywhere.
