inJust realized my AI art pipeline broke in a weird way yesterday
Computers just do that sometimes, you fix one thing and something else breaks. It's like the universe's way of reminding you that you can't ever fully control anything. You get it working again and just hope it holds out long enough to finish the job.

inBought a $300 borescope and it paid for itself in one inspection
Was the corrosion visible from the access panel or did you have to snake it pretty far down the spar? I've heard of folks missing rust right behind rivets that you can only catch with a scope, but that's a tricky spot to get a clear shot at. Curious if you used the mirror first or just went straight for the scope because of a hunch. That kind of find pays for the tool and then some, especially if you caught it before a crack formed.

inBought a fancy book light for $45 and it died after 2 weeks
My $15 one from Walgreens lasted like a year, so I used to think you were just paying for the name with those fancy ones. But after hearing this, I guess they're all just luck of the draw honestly.

inTIL that using a kitchen scale for everything, even liquids, is a game changer
Dropping the measuring cup was a huge relief for me honestly. Water density is pretty consistent, so gram for gram it's almost perfect for liquids, but flour is where I really saw the difference. A cup of flour can vary by like 30 grams depending on how you scoop it, but 250 grams on the scale is always 250 grams. My cookies stopped spreading into flat pancakes once I ditched the cups for good. Have you tried weighing your butter and sugar yet?

inHit 500 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail last month and it threw me off
Oh I totally get this. When I crossed 200 miles on the Appalachian Trail last fall I was just staring at this stream thinking about my third day of ramen dinners and how I almost cried over a broken shoelace. Numbers like that make the hard stuff feel worth it because you can't fake 500 miles you know? It's like a receipt for all the pain and pretty views combined. I had a similar moment at 1,000 miles on a bike tour and just sat there eating trail mix for ten minutes feeling weirdly proud.
