inA row of Bradford pears in a Charlotte strip mall parking lot changed my view on them
That line about them splitting right down the middle is so common. I saw a post from a city arborist last year showing the exact same thing after a storm, calling them a "liability planting." They said the cleanup costs always outweigh the cheap initial price.

inHad a plank snap right at the tongue on a big glue-down job in a Charlotte office building last week
Honestly that sound makes my soul leave my body for a second. The floor is absolutely laughing at you.

inMy team's visit to a shut-down mall for a work activity was pure chaos
Start by asking what problem you're actually trying to solve. If the team just needs to focus, book a normal meeting room with good coffee and snacks. The weird space becomes a distraction, not a help. I've seen it kill momentum every time.

inAppreciation post: My old system for remembering names involved a notepad and a prayer, but now I just use a simple app called 'NameTag' (it's free, you should try it).
Read an article once about how our brains treat names differently from other info. They're like random data packets with no real meaning to latch onto. A person's job, like "the baker," gives your brain a hook. But "Mr. Jenkins" is just a sound. That's why you can remember someone makes amazing cupcakes but totally blank on their actual name. Makes the whole "work to remember" thing make more sense.
