I was waiting for my order at a shop in Austin last week and heard this barista tell a customer that plain tap water can mess up even the best beans. I've been blaming my brewing technique for that flat taste for months. Tried filtered water at home the next day and my morning cup actually had flavor. Has anyone else noticed a big difference just from switching water?

I hired this guy from a local marketing meetup in Austin for $500 and his only advice was to pick 3 keywords and stick with them. Just found out my LED lamp is probably burning my clients

Was reading a study from last year that said most LED curing lamps lose power after 6 months and we never check them, I tested mine today and it was only putting out 60% of what it should. Has anyone else actually calibrated their lamp or are we all just guessing?

Just caught a bug because I forgot semicolons in JavaScript

I spent 2 hours debugging a function that just wouldn't run, and it turned out I was missing semicolons at the end of two lines. My buddy on Discord pointed it out by pasting my code into a linter, which is something I never thought to use as a beginner. Has anyone else had a stupid simple error like this eat up their whole afternoon?

Unpopular opinion: Ditching my habit tracker actually helped me be more consistent

I started bullet journaling 6 months ago and had a perfect color coded habit tracker for things like drinking water and exercise. But after a week of skipping it because I felt guilty about missing a day, I noticed I was actually doing the habits less just to avoid filling in empty boxes. Has anyone else found that tracking habits backfires on you?

Now I just hit the button on a jolt-squeeze machine and it's done in 10 seconds. Boss put one in last year after I complained about my knees aching. Anyone else miss the old way or am I just being sentimental?

Vent: My laptop charger died in a tiny town in Laos last month

I was in this place called Muang Ngoi, basically a village with one main street and no real stores. My charger just stopped working one morning, the little light went out. I had a big project due for a client in two days. I asked around and the only place that might have one was a boat ride away, a three hour trip each way. I ended up borrowing a super old charger from the guesthouse owner that only worked if I held the cord at a weird angle. Sat in the common area for like 8 hours straight, scared to move my hand, trying to get enough battery to finish the work. It was so stressful, I almost missed the deadline. Has anyone else had a gear failure in a spot with zero backup options? What did you do?

Overheard a bride at a venue say she picked her florist because of the delivery setup

I was dropping off a small order at the Maplewood Gardens place and heard a bride telling her friend she went with a different shop because they brought everything in labeled boxes with pictures. My usual method is just a quick verbal rundown with the coordinator. Has anyone tried using photo labels for big wedding deliveries, and did it cut down on setup questions?
