Paid $38 for a travel router and it paid for itself in one night
I used to always book hotels with the cheapest wifi package, like $12 a night, thinking I was saving money. Last month I grabbed one of those little travel routers for $38 before a 5 day trip to Nashville. Turns out, I could get the free basic wifi at the hotel and just broadcast my own secure signal from the router to all my devices. It handled my phone, tablet, and my girlfriend's stuff without the hotel charging us for multiple device access. That one trip saved me roughly $55 in upgrade fees, so the router basically paid for itself. Now I'm kicking myself for all the years I spent on junk wifi fees before this. Has anyone else done this hack or do you just pay for the hotel wifi and call it a day?
