How far was your probe from the actual intake vents when you took that reading? The gap you described makes me wonder if the probe was ever in a spot that could catch the real heat, or if it just happened to sit in the one cool pocket of the room. Single point sensors only tell you what is happening right at the tip, so placement matters more than most people admit. A 47 degree difference is not a small miss either, that is the kind of gap that turns into a dead drive or a shutdown at 2am. Do you think the probe placement was wrong from the start, or did something change in the rack that made the old spot go cold? Either way it sounds like you already know which tool you trust now.

The "nothing to do with the caffeine" part got me. My grandpa used to tell me about how coffee houses in the old days were basically where people went to argue about politics and stir up trouble. They banned the drink but it was really about shutting down the hangouts. Like when a town bans a bar not because of the booze but because of the fights outside.
