My coworker pulled out a $3 envelope at lunch in Fresno and it got me to actually try cash budgeting
We were grabbing tacos near the office and she paid with cash from this beat up envelope labeled groceries. I asked about it and she said she's been doing it 14 months and her food spending dropped from about $600 a month to $380. She splits rent, gas, fun money, all into separate envelopes on payday. I've tried apps but always end up swiping anyway, so seeing it work in someone's actual hands hit different. Anyone here use cash envelopes long term? What do you do about bills that only come out of a card?
