inI used to think those cheap phone telescope adapters were a good deal, but I just wasted $40 on one that blurred every single shot of the Orion Nebula.
Wait, you're saying old camera mounts are built like tanks? I've seen the plastic stuff they're selling now and it feels like it could snap if you look at it wrong. That's kind of wild that people are basically getting a steal on metal mounts that probably outlast the newer ones, even if you have to mess with thread sizes a bit.

inWorking the old dredge in Savannah and the mud there is something else
Man that Georgia mud is something else, it gets in every little crack and crevice. I remember working a job down near Brunswick on a similar setup and we had the same problem with the pump screen clogging up every hour or so. What finally worked for us was we switched to a coarser screen mesh and ran the pump at a lower RPM so it wasn't pulling so hard. We also kept a constant trickle of water going into the intake to loosen it up before it hit the pump. That sticky clay just needs to be thinned out or it'll glue everything shut no matter what you do.

inHot take: I've been doing miter joints wrong for 10 years and a piece of scrap wood finally showed me
Half a degree ain't gonna matter for most home projects, that's just trim guys being picky about stuff nobody notices but them. Caulk and wood filler exist for a reason, and I'd rather spend my time actually building than fussing over a digital gauge every time I set up. Been running the same saw for 8 years without checking it once and my stuff comes out fine cause I know how to work around the little imperfections.

inTIL comparing two "creepy security cam" videos side by side shows one was definitely a guy in a costume
Man I'd probably be the guy in the Walmart video tripping over my own feet.

inThat "always be A/B testing" advice cost me real money
Helvetica and Arial are almost identical so that three weeks was the real mistake.
