I bought a $300 ultrasonic cleaner for chain cleaning, but I'm not convinced it's better than my old brush and solvent method.

The shop owner said it would save me hours a month, but after six months, I'm not seeing it. It takes time to set up, uses a lot of fluid, and honestly, the results aren't that different from a thorough hand clean. For a busy shop, maybe it makes sense, but for my home workshop, it feels like a fancy paperweight. What's your take? Are these things a game-changer for you, or just an expensive gimmick?

Just realized my oven runs 25 degrees hot after talking to my neighbor

I was complaining about my cookies always burning on the bottom, and my neighbor Gina asked if I ever checked the actual temp with a thermometer. I bought a cheap oven thermometer from the grocery store for $8, and sure enough, it read 375 when my dial said 350. I've been baking everything too hot for months. Has anyone else found a big difference with their oven's real temperature?

The 'I only read the big two' thing is getting old

I was at a local con in Phoenix last weekend and this guy kept telling everyone he's a 'real comic fan' but only reads Marvel and DC. He said, and I quote, 'everything else is just fan fiction.' It matters because it shuts down so many great stories. I got into comics through Image books like Saga, and now I read stuff from smaller presses all the time. That attitude makes new readers think there's only one way to enjoy the hobby. It also ignores how many big ideas start outside the big two. How do you even call yourself a fan if you're ignoring whole sections of the medium? What's a great non-Marvel/DC book you'd hand to someone like that?

My slow cooker died halfway through a big batch of beans last night

Changed my mind about using bleach in flower water

I read online that a tiny bit of bleach keeps water clear and stops bacteria. I tried it with a bucket of white roses for a wedding last weekend, using a quarter teaspoon per gallon.
