Spent 4 hours trying to level a floating shelf that was off by maybe an eighth of an inch.
I measured everything three times, used a laser level, and the bracket still looked crooked, so I had to take it down and start over with a whole new set of drywall anchors.

But is it even worth redoing.

Reminds me of a client who wanted a perfect poodle topknot. We spent an hour getting it just right, and then her dog shook its head the second it got outside. All that work, gone in a second. Sometimes chasing that last little bit of perfect just sets you up to watch it get messed up anyway.

Why even bother with a laser for something that small? An eighth of an inch is nothing you'd ever notice once stuff is on the shelf. Sometimes perfect is the enemy of good enough.
