Hit 5000 AI generations last night and it finally clicked for me

Nah man, 5000 tries is still putting in the work.

Spent 6 hours wrestling a 4 inch steam pipe flange that was 1/8 off from square

@betty_scott18 sounds like you and me both have that "I can fix it with enough hate" mindset lol. That 4 inch pipe had me using a come along and a 4 foot cheater bar just to get the bolts started. Grinding bolt holes is honestly the move sometimes, even if the foreman gives you the side eye for it.

Heard a customer say my sourdough was 'too tangy' and it stung

That 80% dough is basically a puddle with flour mixed in, not dry at all. It's funny how people use the word dry for totally different things. My neighbor calls his lawn dry if it hasn't rained for two days, but then lets his sprinklers run for an hour. Same with people who say their job is dry but they just mean boring, not literally lacking moisture. We do this with all sorts of words, like calling food spicy when it's just a little pepper flake. I guess it's just human nature to stretch words until they mean whatever we want them to mean. Makes having actual conversations a real mess sometimes.

Just realized I was using wrong glue for 6 months straight

What is it about glue that makes us all think we've got it figured out until someone with grey hair and a smudge of wheat paste on their sweater decides to school us? I spent two years using superglue on book hinges because I thought "stronger is better" and wondered why everything shattered like glass. We all have that one craft supply we've been wildly misusing, just glad you didn't accidentally glue your fingers together for a whole season.

A long-time collector told me to stop bagging my comics wrong

I don't know, I've been bagging mine with the flap on the same side as the opening for like 15 years and never had a dust problem... but I also keep them in short boxes with lids so maybe that's why. As for the cardboard behind every book, I kinda disagree there. I mean yeah, it adds protection, but I've got hundreds of dollar bin books that I just don't care that much about. The cardboard takes up space and makes the boxes heavier. I'll only bother with the cardboard on stuff worth $20 or more, the rest can just breathe a little.
