Vent: That board game cafe downtown has zero clue about noise levels

Four weeks back my cousin did the same thing at that new place on 5th street. Honestly, it was just a bad night for her, she'd already had a rough week at work and the line was too long. Ngl, people act like walking out after five minutes is some huge statement, but sometimes you just don't have the patience for a crowded spot. I get that your friend did it, but half the time it's just someone being dramatic over a wait time or a menu item they didn't like. Not every little thing has to be a whole big deal.

Am I the only one who used to hate pre-terminated fiber cables?

Admit it, I was the guy who thought pre-terminated was for people who didn't know how to properly scratch a fiber. Then I spent an hour trying to clean a splice and my own reflection in the cleaver was laughing at me. Pre-terms win every time now.

Spent $80 on a fancy bread lame and it ruined my scoring

Grabbed that same fancy lame and felt like a total bread snob for about five minutes. First cut was more like a ragged tear than a score, honestly looked like a toddler went at it with a butter knife. Ended up tossing it in the drawer of shame and now I just use a normal razor blade stuck on a chopstick (okay, a wooden skewer). Sometimes the "professional" stuff just makes you feel like a pro at messing up, right?

Switched from a cheap LED shop light to a proper fluorescent fixture in my garage workshop last month and the difference is unreal

Did you notice a difference with fine detail work too @charlesj46, or was it mostly the headaches that tipped you off? I've been thinking about swapping my garage lights but I'm worried the CRI ratings are just marketing fluff. Always hard to tell if an upgrade is actually worth it until you've already spent the money.

Blew a hydraulic fitting near Green Bay last Tuesday

You know what, I used to think carrying spare seals was a waste of space, but then I had a job way out in the sticks and the o-ring on a boom lift blew. I spent three hours driving to a dealer and back, and the customer was furious. After that, I started stashing a little kit with common sizes for the old gear I run across most.
