Just read that a cutter suction dredge can move over 10,000 cubic yards a day

My local park's pond got dredged last year, the crew said they moved 8,000 yards a week. It makes you realize how much hidden infrastructure work happens that we never see, just to keep things from filling in. Those big industrial numbers start to feel real when you see a small version of it.

Warning: My aunt's 'simple' pie crust advice from Thanksgiving nearly ruined my filling

My grandma in Toledo always said the same thing about pie dough and her crusts were perfect. Sometimes the problem isn't the advice but the person trying to follow it without enough practice. That "feel right" stage comes from experience you just don't get from a written recipe. Honestly, blaming a simple tip seems like an easy way out when the real issue was probably rushing or not knowing what to look for.

Rant: My basement floor drain backed up during the big thaw last week

My kitchen drain's the only root system I can handle, @olivere30.

Serious question, a customer in Austin said my bottle openers were too sharp on the edges.

Oh man, that reminds me of when I made a keychain that kept snagging on pockets.

Saw a guy at the Portland airport wearing a suit made of old airline seat covers

Oh my god, that's amazing. He was probably trying to get a free upgrade by blending in with the furniture. I just hope he didn't try to recline during dinner. Honestly, that's the most committed airport outfit I've ever heard of.
