Shoutout to the grocery cart math that finally made my rice and beans cheaper than the dollar menu
I used to think buying the 10 lb bag of rice was always the move, but last week at the Food Lion in Gastonia I did the math and the 2 lb bag was 89 cents less per pound because the big one had been sitting since March. Now I check the unit price tag instead of just grabbing the biggest bag, and my weekly food bill went from $62 to $47. Has anyone else noticed the small bags are sometimes the better deal, or is my store just weird?
