inJust realized I've been stripping 12 gauge wire wrong for years
I used to twist wire nuts by hand until I saw a guy use a drill with a nut setter. My wrist would ache after a day of trimming out a house. Now I zip them on in a second and my hand doesn't feel like it's going to fall off.

inHot take: I tried reading the new Spider-Man run on my phone vs. the actual floppies and the floppies won by a mile.
Oh absolutely. The art just hits different on paper, full stop. All those tiny details and colors get lost on a screen. Plus there's something about holding it and turning the pages that makes the whole thing feel more real. Reading on my phone always feels like I'm just killing time, not really getting into the story. Floppies for life.

inAppreciation post: My $400 laser level was a total game changer
Remember when corded drills would almost yank you off the ladder? What took us so long to upgrade?

inFinally got my A&P cert after 3 years of night classes
It's funny how often the final hurdle feels impossible. I saw it with my buddy getting his welding cert, just one tricky vertical weld he couldn't nail. My own car project sat for weeks over a simple sensor wiring puzzle. That last bit before you finish something always seems to throw the weirdest, most specific problem at you, like the universe is doing a final check.

inQuestion about using a 3/8-inch drive on big flange bolts
Seen it happen way too often. That little 3/8 square just isn't made for that kind of torque, cheater bar or not. I snapped the head clean off a socket once on a rusty 7/8. Now my rule is simple: if the bolt head is bigger than my thumb, the half inch drive comes out. It's just not worth the busted knuckles or the walk back to the truck.
