Heard a story kinda like this from an old millwright down in Birmingham years back. Said the young guys always wanna reach for the biggest hammer in the truck and the old timers just grab a chisel and a dead blow and walk it right out. Something about how the air hammer bounces and the dead blow dont, so all the force goes into the metal instead of ringing your arm. Makes sense when you think about it. Sometimes the quiet way gets the job done faster than beating the hell out of something.
