inMy basement drywall fix went sideways until I tried the California patch trick
Man I spent three hours picking the wrong shade of white once!

inGot told my drywall tape job looked like a toddler did it
Ouch, that's rough, but that 15 minute wait trick is gold. I had a similar moment when a painter told me to stop chasing wet mud and just let it set, completely changed how my finish looked. Glad you got a tip that actually worked instead of just getting roasted.

inSerious question: how do you recover when your boss catches you watching cat videos during a "meeting"?
Did you try blaming the cat video on "cybersecurity awareness training" or is that just my go-to excuse?

inI lost $150 on a set of collets that were just a little bit off
Have you heard about the whole "Chinese collets are a gamble" thing that pops up on forums sometimes? I read somewhere that some of those cheap sets are ground on worn out machines, so the taper angle is never consistent from one collet to the next. Five thou is brutal though, that's basically useless for anything but a drill chuck. I figure at least you saved yourself headaches by tossing them instead of fighting with them for months.

inVent: Hit 50 rejections on job apps this morning and I'm done pretending it's fine
Kinda have to push back on one thing here - those 6 interviews out of 50 apps is actually a solid hit rate. Most people I know are getting like 1 interview out of 100 apps right now. That means your resume and experience are probably fine, but the system is just broken. You might be getting stuck on the second round because they're making you do those stupid group interviews or personality tests that don't actually test real skills. Have you tried reaching out to recruiters directly on LinkedIn instead of just clicking "apply"?
