Showerthought: I tried to fix my neighbor's squeaky door in Portland with WD-40 and now it sounds like a dying goose

The hinge was making this awful noise every time they opened it, so I grabbed the can and gave it a good spray. Instead of going quiet, it started making this low, honking sound that happens about two seconds after the door moves. I learned that sometimes you need the right lubricant, not just the one you have in the garage. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a whole new problem?

Seeing more ready-to-use templates in my design software has sped up my garage builds

I've been using construction software for my woodworking hobby. Lately, I've noticed a trend where these tools include templates for common projects like decks or shelves. For example, last month I used a pre-made shed plan in the app, and it cut my design time in half. It's great because I can focus on the building part instead of starting from scratch. But sometimes, these templates limit creativity, don't you think? Overall, it's made my projects more efficient, even with the kids running around.

I thought water-based poly would save time on my cabinet refresh

Halfway through applying it, bubbles formed all over the surface. I followed the instructions carefully, but it still happened. Now I have to sand back to bare wood and start over, putting me a day behind schedule.
