My old drafting lamp gave up the ghost mid-project last night

I was working on a set of elevation details for a kitchen remodel around 9 PM. The lamp just flickered out, no warning. I had to finish the linework using the overhead light, which cast shadows right across my vellum. Ended up taping a flashlight to the edge of the board to get through it. Anyone have a go-to lamp brand that won't quit on a deadline?

Bought a Daytona low-profile jack last week. Every time I tried to lift my truck, it would tilt and bind. I was convinced the saddle was welded wrong, checked the hydraulics, even called the store. I was finishing a job last week and got chatting with the homeowner's neighbor, who's a firefighter. He said they see way more chimney fires from 'glazed' creosote, the hard, shiny kind, than the fluffy soot we usually warn about. I've always told clients the fluffy stuff is the main danger. He said that glazed stuff can ignite at a lower temperature and is way harder to put out. It really hit different coming from someone who sees the worst-case results. So, should we be changing how we talk about risks with customers? Is fluffy soot getting too much of the bad rep?
