inUsing a friend's address for cheaper museum entry is a popular budget hack, but doing it made me question where the line is.
You'd lie about your address for a discount?

inUnpopular opinion: Painting over wallpaper is a valid DIY hack
Tell me about it. My old landlord did the cheapest cosmetic updates before showing our apartment, but the plumbing was a nightmare. It's like those home reno shows where they glue new countertops over rotten cabinets. The flashy cover-up never lasts, and you're left dealing with the same old mess.

inMy cable disaster during an acoustic set
Wait, that's not always the case though. I've been to plenty of shows called acoustic where they use a mic for the singer so the crowd can hear. Like at a small club, the guitar was natural but the vocal had a thin cable running to a little amp. They still call it acoustic because the instruments aren't plugged in. So a cord getting yanked could totally happen.

inThe drought is killing my favorite park
Ugh, tell me about it. I was just there and it's not even patches of dirt yet, it's all that sad, crispy brown grass. Even the little creek bed is totally dry, which I've never seen before. It really does feel like a preview of a much worse normal, not just a bad year. We're already acting, just in the wrong direction.

inI banned quick pours from new hands on my floor.
Right, that "hands stop shaking" part is so true. I saw it welding, had a kid who kept rushing his bead. Made him run the same straight line over and over at half speed until his grip was steady. The moment he stopped fighting the tool, his consistency shot up.
