Everyone says you need a full dig crew, but a $12 trowel and one weekend at a spot near Tucson proved otherwise
I keep hearing that real survey work needs a team and permits and a whole season, but I mapped a small lithic scatter on a friend's ranch outside Tucson solo with just a trowel, a tape, and a notebook. The county record office had a 1978 site map that was off by about 40 meters, which is how I found it. Anyone else get more done with a shoestring setup than a big crew?
