inSeeing a heap of scrapped laptops changed my take on saving components
Totally get what you mean about seeing good parts get tossed. I started pulling old power supplies and fans from dead PCs after my buddy showed me his scrap pile. Now I've got a whole bin of salvaged mosfets and heatsinks that have saved a few projects. It's weirdly satisfying to know a part from a 2010 laptop is keeping something else running.

inBack in the day, hauling a crane across states was part of the gig.
Last job in Colorado, we flew in and the crane was already there. Felt disconnected from the work, honestly.

inVent: Thin glass nightmare on a ski resort contract
What was your process for transporting the glass up there? Did the resort have any requirements for cold-weather installs?

inFound an old campsite deep in the forest last Sunday
Speaking of modern trash, my buddy once found an old cooler full of junk in the woods. It had a bunch of melted candy wrappers and, weirdly, like eight dead AA batteries. We packed all that out because it was clearly just someone's litter from a few years back. Felt like cleaning up after a very lazy ghost who had a sweet tooth. Honestly, that candy sludge was its own kind of health violation.

inFrom my bench, skipping the loupe for focus screens has never failed me
But what if you're in a totally dark space? Phone lights often don't reach far enough to be useful. It's a good trick, but not foolproof.
