Crossed 100 books logged and realized I'm just skimming the surface
I hit 100 books in my Goodreads challenge, but looking back, I barely remember half of them. It feels like the milestone pushed me to read faster, not deeper. Anyone else feel like tracking numbers ruins the actual book club discussion?

That's a solid milestone, but I get the hollow feeling. What's the last book you actually remember in detail, and why did it stick?

That "hollow feeling" after hitting a goal is too real. It made me remember this old sci-fi book, "The Sparrow", where the main character achieves this huge thing but it just wrecks him. I read it years ago and still think about how the ending just sits there, all quiet and awful. It's less about the plot and more about that specific mood of success turning to ashes.
