inMy mom said my throw pillows looked like a hotel lobby
Read that same article, felt like a personal attack on my entire apartment. But honestly, who cares if my couch looks like a Holiday Inn lobby? I'm the one sitting on it, not a traveling businessman trying to sleep in a weird room. Swapped my matching coasters for some chipped ones from a garage sale, still looks like a display, just a messier one. Sometimes a boring matching set is fine if you don't want to think about decor every time you walk in the room.

inOverheard two guys at a trailhead in Oregon comparing gear lists
The 5 minute setup is no joke, I timed myself last weekend and had my tarp pitched and my stuff inside the bivy in 4 minutes flat. That speed really changes how you plan your day on trail because you dont have to worry about finding a perfect flat spot for a tent. More time sitting around watching the sunset instead of fumbling with poles and rainflys is always a win in my book.

inToo many resumes skip the numbers game
One time I sat through a hiring meeting where the manager literally skipped over a resume because it said "helped patients" instead of "reduced wait times by 15 minutes and handled 20 cases a day." Numbers made all the difference there, even for a support role. I get that not everything can be measured, but specifics separate you from the pile way faster than general talk about work ethic.

inSpent an afternoon trying to get into an old grain silo... that took 4 hours.
Yeah @rose_hart31, you're probably right that I overcomplicated it. But honestly, I feel like that's just how simple plans go sometimes you start with one idea and end up chasing down every little problem before you get anywhere. It's like when you try to fix a loose doorknob and an hour later you're rebuilding the whole frame.

inShowerthought: Found a 200 year old fence post in the woods near my cabin in Vermont
Fair point, I used to think they were all that old too.
