inPSA: The "Scream" scene in Evangelion still gets me every time, 20 years later
Totally did that thing where I forgot I had roommates and they walked in on me clutching a pillow yelling "JUST TALK TO HIM" at the screen like he could hear me through the TV. Had to pretend I was doing some intense core workout to explain the red eyes and sniffling. The fact that I'm almost 40 and still get wrecked by a fictional kid's panic attack in a mech suit is honestly my biggest character development.

inFound a junkyard fan from a 90s Taurus that bolts right onto my Civic radiator
Oh come on @derek939, that sounds like a hack job waiting to fail.

inFound a 1992 album called 'Soul Caddy' by a band named Cherry Poppin' Daddies in a dollar bin, and it's not swing music.
Best way to break that is just throw on a record you know they'd never expect.

inThat 'vintage' lamp at a Bremerton sale turned out to be a cheap knockoff
Actually, it was $49.99 plus tax so it stings a little more than $45 lol. The worst part is the "turbo boost" button does absolutely nothing, I pressed it a dozen times on the way home and my speed stayed exactly the same. At least the little plastic spoiler on the back did fall off after three days so now I have a story about that too. Totally not worth it but hey, you're right about the story value being high.

inWarning: that cheap home warranty I bought cost me double in the end
Tbh danielmartinez, your buddy's story hits close to home. I once had a leaky pipe in my basement that I ignored for like two months, and when it finally burst, the plumber was like "oh yeah this is definitely pre-existing damage." I was just sitting there with a wet sock and a blank check feeling like the biggest idiot in town. So yeah, insurance companies love that "pre-existing" excuse almost as much as I love pretending I know how to use a plunger.
