Hot take: I finally got a decent shot of the Milky Way from my backyard in Flagstaff

I always thought you needed crazy expensive gear for good astro shots. My old DSLR could never get the Milky Way core clear from my place near Sedona. Stacking 20 exposures in DeepSkyStacker last year was a total game changer, the noise just melted away. For a free program it works solid, I haven't felt the need to switch. Your results from a Bortle 4 zone sound about right for what that method can do.

Just read that a single mature tree can absorb over 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year

That Portland report is a good start, but the "over 48 pounds" figure is a general average. Fast growing trees like poplars or pines can absorb a lot more, especially when they're young. The type and age of the tree makes a huge difference.

I finally remembered that old customer in Akron who taught me something about patience

Noticed the same thing happens with recipes or car repairs. People who have done something for decades have these little rules that sound simple but actually solve big headaches later. Makes you wonder what other shortcuts we're missing by always rushing.

Has anyone worked with webuyhouseasis? (Bothell area)

I sold my rental to them. I literally left half the old furniture in there and they didn't care. Super easy process.

Tried using a can of compressed air to clean a dusty server and it started playing music

That "weird whistling tune" thing is so real. My old laptop fan used to do something similar when it was dying, but it was more like a sad little siren. It would start up and my whole desk would hum at this one awful pitch. I ended up taking the whole thing apart just to make it stop, and it was packed with this weird gray fluff that wasn't even normal dust. Felt like I was performing surgery just to get some quiet.
