I moved a whole office over to a 2.5G switch and the only thing that got faster was my own headache
Back in March I swapped a client in Reno off their old 1G unmanaged gear onto a 2.5G managed switch, mostly because their new NAS kept capping out during backups. The backups barely improved, but my ticket count dropped by half in a month. Turns out their old switch was throwing errors on one port and silently dropping packets, and nobody ever noticed because it had been there since 2019. Has anyone else had a swap fix a problem you weren't even there to fix?
