inI finally went through my grandpa's farrier kit. The old methods seem slower but more thoughtful. Am I just being sentimental?
Wow, my buddy Dave found his great-uncle's farrier stuff in a barn. He showed me this one old rasp, thing weighed a ton and the handles were worn smooth. He said using it just once made him realize how much slower, yeah, but also how much more careful you had to be back then. Totally changed how he sees his own work now.

inSerious question, is hands-on repair always worth the drive time?
Actually, remote tools can often spot physical issues too. For example, a server dropping off the network might trigger a power alert in the monitoring system. High temperature readings could point directly to a fan packed with dust. They're best used to narrow down the cause before anyone touches the hardware. In your case, a quick look at power metrics might have shown that drop, saving those hours of guesswork.
