I'd be digging through my old receipts too, probably would've noticed way sooner if I wasn't always in a rush.

Honestly I think people are making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be. Yeah the locker in Lisbon was small but I just put my stuff under the bed and it was fine. Hostels have always had weird quirks, some are great and some are not, you move on. And comparing it to grocery store produce bags is a stretch, that's a totally different thing. If you really need a big locker, just ask at the front desk, half the time they have one hidden away you can use for free.
