inSeeing how they handle elevator repairs in Singapore... got me rethinking our whole approach back home.
For elevators, a regular maintenance schedule stops most problems before they start.

inTIL more chefs are switching to ugly produce for specials to cut waste.
Finally catching on to what home cooks have known forever (a bent carrot still tastes like a carrot). It's funny we needed a fancy restaurant special to make that seem okay. Guess it proves presentation really is half the battle.

inA random writing prompt unlocked my plot, but is that cheating?
Honestly, I felt the same way for years, thinking prompts were just training wheels. But then I tried one during a bad writer's block, and it totally flipped my view. Like, I got a prompt about a character hearing a phone ring in an empty house, and it led to my best short story. That wasn't cheating, it was just a jumpstart for my brain. Now I see prompts as keys to unlock ideas, not shortcuts. So if it works for you, run with it.

inPSA: The push for electric is killing good diesel jobs in my town.
Man, that's rough to watch happen. I saw the old NAPA parts store on Route 9 shut down last year, and Bob's Diesel repair just had a going-out-of-business sale. It leaves a real hole in the town. You're right, it's not just about the cars, it's about the people who fixed them. Hard to see what fills that space.
