A burnt control board memory from my apprentice days
I used to think changing oven timers was easy. But once, I mixed up the wires and fried the control board. Now, I always check the wiring diagram before I touch anything.

You know my friend who thought he could skip the wiring diagram and just wing it?

Yikes, that sizzling sound is the worst. I always grab the wiring diagram and trace each connection with a highlighter now, no shortcuts. Labeling the wires with tape before you disconnect the old board is a lifesaver too. That extra ten minutes saves you from a very expensive mistake and a total redo.

Seriously, mixing wires can toast a board that badly? I always figured it would just pop a fuse or something. Hearing about a full fry job like that makes me sweat. No wonder grace72 uses highlighters and tape, that's next-level caution right there.
