inHeard a guy at the lumber yard say he never pre-drills for pocket holes anymore
Yeah, that "ruin good hardwood" part... it's like people skipping steps everywhere to save five minutes. I see it with recipes, with car stuff... ends up costing more time later.

inMy neighbor said he tapes his seams before the first coat of mud sets up, claims it's faster. I've always waited for it to dry.
Sounds about right lol. That "time saving" trick always ends up costing twice as much time to fix. Some guys never learn.

inHas anyone used Grease Cleaning Pros in LA?
Yeah, we switched to them a few months ago after dealing with constant no-shows from our old vendor. Really fast service and the crew is super respectful of the kitchen space.

inMy stubborn view on diagnostic computers melted after a buddy's botched fix.
Wait, I'm a bit confused. Pride doesn't really have a cost, right? She's using it as a metaphor for sticking with old stuff. The real cost is the time and hassle of dealing with broken or slow things.

inQuestion about calling a plant 'invasive' just because it's new
Totally get this. I used to be the person yelling about pulling out all the non-natives too. Then I watched a patch of so-called invasive crown vetch on a roadside slope for years. Nothing else grew there, it stopped the dirt from washing away, and bees were all over it. It made me rethink the whole thing. Like @the_kelly said, if it's not on a list and it's helping, maybe it's just a plant doing its job.
