My recent job made me question the push for all-digital control panels
We were upgrading an older building's lifts to the latest touchscreen systems. Everyone on site was praising how sleek and modern they looked. But I had to troubleshoot one that froze up mid-cycle, and without physical buttons, it was a nightmare to reset. In my view, keeping some manual overrides isn't old-school, it's just smart. Relying solely on screens can leave us stranded when they fail.
