PSA: That nasty attic mouse nest taught me to scan for pests first
I was clearing out blown-in cellulose from an attic last spring and stumbled on a huge mouse nest. It was filled with droppings and shredded insulation, which was a real hassle to deal with. I had to stop everything, suit up in extra gear, and bag it all out carefully. After that, I decided to always take a minute to look for animals or signs before unloading materials. Just yesterday, I spotted some gnaw marks on wiring during a check and warned the client. They called an exterminator right away, so we could work safe and clean. Now, that quick look is part of my setup routine on every job. It's a small thing, but it keeps the job moving and avoids nasty surprises.
