Noticed my desert installs hold up better without vapor barriers.
Skipping them in dry areas hasn't led to any issues.

My cousin in Phoenix left his vapor barrier roll in the garage for three years... still waiting for that desert moisture to show up. The building code guys would have a heart attack if they saw my shed floor just breathing free out here. It's like we're all out here trying to solve a problem that the climate already fixed.

Yeah I saw some old ranch buildings out near Tucson with slab floors just poured right on the dirt... those things have outlasted every fancy modern house with all its layers. Makes you wonder what we're even doing sometimes with all this stuff. Concrete doesn't really care if it breathes out there.
