Appreciation post: I tested a $30 'smart' plug that claimed to track energy use, and the numbers were way off compared to my utility bill.

Mine actually works pretty well for simple schedules. Maybe you just got a dud?

Used to think the same way honestly, was ready to toss mine after a week. Then I actually sat down and worked through the setup and it's been solid ever since.
