Finally got the hang of that stubborn autopilot test sequence

It was during a night shift in Tulsa, and the senior tech just said 'stop fighting the manual and let the system tell you what it needs.' I started watching the fault codes cycle in a different order and found the real issue in about twenty minutes. Anyone have a better method for the Collins AP-105 pre-flight check?

That "let the system tell you" advice is gold. I started doing a full power cycle and watching the boot-up sequence BEFORE I even touch the manual checklist. The order those lights come on tells you everything. Saves me a ton of time on those old birds.

Spot the pattern over a few cycles and you can predict failures before they happen. The sequence drift on a cold morning last week pointed straight to a failing bus controller. Lets you order the part before the thing fully dies.
